SEMIKRON is a company founded in 1951 by Dr. Friedrich Josef Martin (1914-1974). Dr. Martin was a student of Ludwig Erhard, who later became Prime Minister of West Germany. Through the establishment of subsidiaries in Brazil, France, Italy and the United Kingdom, the Nuremberg entrepreneur has spent only a few short years and has firmly grasped the most important markets in the power electronics industry. Today, this family-owned company has been managed by a third generation of heads of staff and has more than 3,000 employees worldwide. Even after more than 60 years (perhaps because of such a long history), power integrator Semikron has always been a leader in the global power electronics industry.
